Tau Beta Pi
Tau Beta Pi is an engineering honor society that recognizes distinguished scholarship and exemplary character. The North Dakota Beta chapter of Tau Beta Pi was founded at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, on April 24, 1974.
Membership in Tau Beta Pi is by invitation only and is based on two criteria:
1. Distinguished Scholarship:
Students eligible for membership must be in the upper eighth of their junior class, in the upper fifth of their senior class, or a graduate engineering student.
2. Exemplary Character:
A candidate must demonstrate a wide range of interests, integrity, adaptability, and participation in community and volunteer activities.
