The LGBTQ+ Ally Program is committed to increasing understanding and awareness around how to foster an inclusive and welcoming climate for the LGBT community.
The LGBTQ+ Ally Training consists of two workshops:
- LGBTQ+ Ally 101: Introduction to the LGBT Community – 2 hours
This training includes: sexual and gender identity terminology, gender continuum, gender neutral pronouns and intersectionality.
- LGBTQ+ Ally 102: Becoming an Ally – 2 hours
This training includes: what an individual can do to support students, friends, and colleagues who may identify as LGBTQ, challenges that LGBTQ individuals may encounter, inclusive language, data, and utilizes case scenarios.
After attending both Ally 101 & 102 workshop participants are eligible to receive a UND LGBTQ+ Ally placard, button and wristband.
These workshops are open to students, staff, faculty and community members.
