First Year Seminar Program
Making the most of your 1st semester:
What might that look like......?
The First-Year Seminar (FYS) Program at UND has been designed to help you make a successful transition to academic life at the University of North Dakota. Enrolling in a FYS class will give you a chance to study an exciting topic that will challenge you academically, and that will intentionally focus on helping you develop skills that can lead to a successful academic career. FYS classes are small (no more than 25 students), making it easy to get to know and work with your professor and your classmates. Your FYS class will help you reflect on how you learn, it will encourage you to be an active and effective learner, and it will allow you to practice using academic skills that are needed for university-level work.
