The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs continually maintains and develops ongoing programs created to assist faculty, staff and students. These initiatives enhance available opportunities in order to reinforce our mission; to provide strategic vision, leadership, and support for academic excellence and integrity to further the university's academic mission through outstanding teaching and learning, cutting-edge scholarly and creative activity, and meaningful service to the public. The following initiatives are being highlighted as the main focus for the 2015-2016 year.
Model for Incentive-Based Resource Allocation (MIRA) - UND's MIRA will be a transparent and decentralized approach to budgeting that promotes outcomes valued by the University community and expressed in planning.
Promotion, Tenure, and Evaluation - promotion and tenure encompass the scope of faculty roles and responsibilities, and impact the vitality and viability of the University of North Dakota’s (UND) academic mission.
Strategic Enrollment Management - SEM facilitates student success by developing and implementing best practices in undergraduate retention, persistence, and completion.
Integrated Coaching and Advising Network (iCAN)
- UND’s new iCAN (Integrated Coaching and Advising Network) has been established following recognition as a community member by EDUCAUSE. Recognition provided for exemplary activities in Integrated Planning and Advising Services (IPAS).
Open Education Resources (OER) - OER is a movement in response to the rising costs of textbooks at double the cost of inflation. Faculty engaged in the use of OER will have the financial, technical and editorial supports. The focus will be on shared expertise and peer-based learning to disseminate curricula and support a learner-centric approach to education.
