PuTTY Telnet & SSH Client - Download PuTTY (CRC Website)

From the PuTTY Website: "PuTTY is a free implementation of Telnet and SSH for Windows and Unix platforms, along with an xterm terminal emulator. It is written and maintained primarily by Simon Tatham."

Users who access CRC Linux clusters (Hodor or Bran) from a Windows Desktop environment must download a SSH client application. This software is not needed to use the WinHPC cluster (Sallah). The CRC suggests Windows desktop users select PuTTY for this purpose.

WinSCP SFTP File Transfer Client - Download WinSCP ver 5.15 (CRC Website)

From the WinSCP Website: "WinSCP is a SFTP client and FTP client for Windows. Its main function is the secure file transfer between a local and a remote computer. It uses Secure Shell (SSH) and supports, in addition to Secure FTP, also legacy SCP protocol."

Xming X Server for Windows - Download Xming Server (SourceForge Website)

From the Xming Website: "Xming is the leading X Server for Microsoft Windows 8/7/Vista/XP (+ server 2012/2008/2003). It is fully featured, small and fast, simple to install and because it is standalone native Microsoft Windows, easily made portable (not needing a machine-specific installation)."

Users who wish to use x-windows port forwarding over SSH must run an X Server on their Windows desktop computer. This software is not needed to use the WinHPC cluster (Sallah). The CRC suggests Windows desktop users select Xming X Server for this purpose.
