Tara has been with IPCED since January of 2007 as a Licensing Assistant and is responsible for the commercialization of engineering and physical science-related technologies. She meets with inventors to discuss intellectual property disclosures, reviews prosecution of patent applications, and works to license existing technologies. She also reviews and drafts legal agreements, including material transfer agreements and licensing agreements.
Tara is also an active member of the Association of University Technology Managers and the Licensing Executive Society. She frequently attends meetings and educational courses for both to sharpen her skills in technology management and licensing technology.
Prior to working at UND, Tara received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering and her M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of North Dakota. She also has spent time interning at Cargill Corn Milling as a process engineer.
