What is research with human subjects?
Research - Research means a systemic investigation, including research development, testing, and evaluation, designed to develop or contribute to generalizable knowledge.
Human Subject - Human subject means a living individual about whom an investigator (whether professional or student) conducting research obtains:
- data through intervention or interaction with the individual, or
- identifiable private information.
If you plan to conduct Human Subjects Research, you must submit the appropriate form to the IRB for review and approval before beginning the research!
