Early Intervention
The Student Success Center is excited to offer an Early Intervention program which identifies and informs students earlier than midterm deficiencies that their successful completion of a course is in jeopardy. As part of the program, between the fourth and fifth week of class, instructors of participating classes are able to identify the area(s) in which a student is struggling:
- Excessive Absences
- Deficient Assignment Scores
- Deficient Test Scores
- Deficient Writing Scores
- Missing Assignments
An email is then sent to all students identified informing them of the instructor's concern(s) and encouraging them to utilize a list of campus resources included in the email. In addition, each student's academic advisor is notified of any referrals.
If you are an instructor interested in having your course(s) participate in the program for Fall 2012, please complete the Course Request Form below and we will consider your course(s) for possible inclusion as we expand the program further.
