Elections Committee
The Student Election Committee shall be responsible for conducting the election and validating all nominating petitions. It shall also verify the eligibility of all candidates and adhere to the UND Student Government Constitution, Student Government Bylaws, and Code of Student Government Elections. The Committee shall have full discretion on any discrepancies regarding the election. It will also interpret, execute, and enforce all election rules in a manner consistent with University policy. The Committee shall also assess and execute the sanctions and penalties provided in the Code if violations occur, and ensure equal opportunity and treatment of all candidates. The Committee will establish an office for the day of election, and shall have the responsibility of ensuring smooth operation of all polling locations. It will also prepare Election Packets, advertise elections and voting with the help of the Public Relations Coordinator, conduct Candidate workshops and forums, establish methods of voting control, count votes at the close of elections, and review the Election Code for needed revisions. Committee meetings will happen once per week in order to ensure proper preparation and compliance with Code and Bylaw due dates leading up to the Election Day.
Qualificiations:
All students interested in a position within Student Government must turn in a Records Release Form and meet the following criteria:
1. Be a registered student at the University of North Dakota
2. Not on academic probation
3. Not on conduct probation
