What's the Secret- According to the new MyPlate, we are supposed to fill half our plate with fruits and veggies. If you are a finicky eater, have children who stick their nose up at anything resembling a veggie, or are just looking for interesting ways to sneak in more nutrients into your diet, What's The Secret is the class for you! Learn how to add vegetables and fruit to famous recipes (think along the lines of adding pureed butternut squash to macaroni N' cheese...crazy huh?!) and see if you can tell the difference. My bet, you and your "customers" won't even know what hit them!
Class will be held on Sept. 19 and 26th at 6pm in the Culinary Corner

Cheap, Fast and Healthy- A 30 minutes session will feature tips on shopping for fresh and healthy ingredients, easy to prepare recipes, and cost comparisons. Class participants will see the recipe being prepared, enjoy a sample, and leave with a recipe card and nutrition information to make the meal themselves! September is Fruit and Veggies- More Matter Month. Each session will focus more on fruit and veggies.
Class is free and no need to pre-register, just show up every Tuesday night at 5:30pm!
Weight Watchers Open House- Weight Watchers on campus is hosting open houses the week of September 17th with a fruit/veggie drive to support the Grand Forks Mission. Fresh fruit & veggies as well as canned will be accepted and donated to the Mission.
Taco in a Bag- Tuesday, Sept. 11th, Taco in a Bag and Work Well fruits and veggies! $1 cost, 11:30-1pm in Memorial Union Ballroom. Get there early to TRY EXOTIC FRUIT & VEGGIES: Jicama, Pomegranate, Tomatillos & Grapples!
