MEMO TO: All apartment residents RE: Updates on Cable TV and Internet Services DATE: 5-28-13
This is an updated version of a notice we sent out earlier in May. We have renewed our cable TV service with Midcontinent and also will be contracting with them to provide internet service to all apartments. These changes are expected to be effective July 1, 2013 pending the completion of service work that will be outlined below.
To implement these changes Midcontinent has already started working in our buildings to install new wiring and equipment where needed. It is anticipated that the project will be completed by July 1, 2013 pending any unforeseen delays. At some point through this project every apartment will need to be entered in order to install equipment, install wiring, or test services. Not all apartments need to have new wiring installed.
Midcontinent will be coordinating the project through several subcontractors all of whom can be identified with a Midcontinent picture ID/badge. Below is an updated timeline. Work has progressed faster than anticipated so review for new dates in your area. If interested, residents may request to have a UND staff member present while work is completed in their apartment. Please make requests 48 hours prior to your schedule apartment entry directly to firstname.lastname@example.org or 777-3763.
As of May 28, 2013:
Estimated Start Date
Estimated Completion Date

** If your address is not listed above it means that rewiring was not necessary. An entry will be needed, at a later date, to install equipment and activate services. This will come out in a future notice.
Midcontinent will be distributing door-hangers, to each apartment, approximately 2 days prior to the start of work in that building. In addition, they will also have a meeting scheduled for residents in each area so they can explain the work that will be done and help residents to be prepared for the entry. Residents who are not able to make it to the meeting will be able to contact a Midcontinent representative for information at 1-855-327-6354.
It is anticipated that some service activations will begin the week of 6/3/13 in a limited number of areas. Emails/notices will be sent out to those that will be impacted. All equipment that is installed in the apartment is the property of Midcontinent Communications and UND Housing and must remain in the unit.
Once the new Midcontinent internet service is activated we will begin the deactivation of the DSL service. Those who rent DSL modems from the housing office will need to return them. Residents will need to work with Telecomm directly to terminate their phone service if they decide that service is no longer needed. We will send out more information about this transition as we approach the activation date in July.
As with any project of this scope communication will be the key. We will make concerted efforts to notify you of the progress and changes with this project. We will also need you to communicate any concerns, questions, or issues that you may have as the work is being completed. These can be addressed to the Housing Office at 777-4251 or email@example.com. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this important project.
