Association of Residence Halls
ARH is the overall governing body that ties together and organizes UND’s residence hall community. ARH works closely with department leaders to promote a great residential experience for students. Concerns about residence hall policies and improvements are channeled to Housing Administration through ARH. Each resident pays a $29.50 fee per semester to support ARH programs, as well as programming efforts in each hall.
To voice such concerns or suggestions, ARH encourages residents to speak with hall government members, hall staff, or email housing@mail.und.edu.
ARH Policy Board reviews and hears requests for policy changes and formulates suggested policy changes for the residence halls. The committee is comprised of a president and vice president at large, the president from each hall, the president of the National Residence Hall Honorary, and the chairs of the boards listed below.
ARH Programming Board’s main purpose is to plan social, cultural and awareness programs for the entire residence hall community.
ARH Conduct Council is the student peer appeal board for conduct decisions from the residence halls. Representation on the Conduct Council is by election from each hall.
ARH Budget Board is comprised of the treasurers from each of the residence halls. It is this board’s duty to administer and audit all ARH accounts. Each hall treasurer is responsible for organizing his/her hall's financial records.
ARH Food & Facilities Board is in charge of allocating money to purchase items that are too expensive for a hall to purchase on its own. This board also provides feedback to Dining Services.
ARH Integrated Media Board Representatives from each hall work to promote residence hall activities on Residence Life Cinema (RLC - Channel 17), pick movies for the channel and work with individual hall government web sites.
ARH Wellness Board representatives works to communicate information regarding wellness programs, activities, and events in the residence halls and on campus.
ARH Recycling Board partners with UND Facilities to encourage residence hall students to address issues of sustainability on campus, particularly in housing and dining services.
