- Room Selection start times will be emailed to the student's UND email and will also be available in Housing Self Service. Please visit Housing Self Service in advance of your start time so you may troubleshoot any access problems.
- Students selecting a room will only see open rooms for which they are eligible.
- Students in a roommate group will only see rooms that can accommodate the size of the roommate group. If no rooms are available try removing members from the roommate group and search again.
- Students who have matched with a roommate group will be able to select room(s) for everyone in the roommate group.
- Students who have not chosen a roommate group will select from available open bed spaces. Students will have to select a space that may already have someone assigned to the room.

Frequently Asked Question
What if I haven't matched with a roommate?
Matching with a roommate is not required. If you have not found a roommate, you will assign yourself to a room during your allotted time. You will place yourself into an empty room or select a space in a room with another person who also did not have a roommate prior to room selection. Students who have an open space in their room, prior to the start of the academic year, will be consolidated with other students in the same situation.
How do I indicate what buildings I want to live in?
You will not need to indicate this prior to your room selection. During your room selection time you will be able to see all available rooms in the halls that have spaces open. You will then add yourself to a room in whichever hall you would like to be in. This is why it is important to explore your options prior to room selection.
Which halls have suites and which have common area bathrooms?
Suite Style halls include Squires, Walsh, Selke, Noren, McVey, Swanson and Brannon. Community style bathrooms are found in Bek, Fulton, Johnstone, Hancock and Smith.
What if I can’t select one of my room choice preferences?
The most likely reason for not seeing any rooms in the hall you are looking for is that they have already been claimed for assignment. However, if you are in a roommate group it may mean that there are not any open spaces for the size of your group. You can try removing members from your roommate group and then try searching for a room again.
What happens if my roommate group is not fully matched?
If your roommate group is not fully matched, you will not be able to select a room. If you would like to select a room you will want to remove any roommates from your group that have not matched or contact them to log in and accept your request. After completing one of these you will then be able to select a room.
How do I sign up for a single room?
There are a limited number of single rooms available. Single rooms will not be available for room selection. Students interested in a single room should pick a room space during room selection and then place themselves on the single room waiting list. To add yourself to the single room waitlist log in to your Housing Self-Service. Under More Tasks select Waitlists select Single Room Waitlist for Fall 2018. We will assign single rooms as they become available.
