- Rates will be posted to our website in March. View residence hall current rates and University Place current rates.
- Due to high occupancy, NO double as single rooms will be offered for next year.
- You are not guaranteed to return to your current designed single room. Students in a designed single room will receive an email from the Housing Office regarding their specific situation.
- Complete Stage 1, by E-signing either a residence hall contract or a University Place contract and paying the $250 first installment from Feb. 15-22 (by 8:00 am on Feb. 22), and you will "get in the lottery." Lottery times will be assigned and available to view in Campus Connection around March 7.
- Don't worry, complete the process for the contract you mistakenly selected. After you are done, email us at housing@email.und.edu and let us know the correct contract and we will work with you to correct the mistake.
- For your lottery time, we will use the application date from your original housing application when you were a freshman. If you left campus housing and then returned, (i.e. internship or co-op) you will have new and later application date. The time IS NOT based on when you complete Stage 1. The earlier you submitted your original housing application as a freshman, the better your lottery time/number.
- When you complete Stage 1, recontracting is really a "re-application" for housing, even though it is called an application.
- You need to allow pop-ups. Check to see if you have a yellow bar at the top. Temporarily disable pop-ups.
- It is recommended that you use Microsoft Internet Explorer to view the MyHousing recontracting application. Although other browsers work, we have found that the best performance has been with Internet Explorer. NOTE: If you are unable to view certain pages when accessing the MyHousing system, make sure to change the Internet settings on your browser to accept cookies. In the Cookies settings, make sure"Override Automatic Cookie Handling" is set, as well as "Accept" in both the First-Party and Third-Party Cookies column. If you have problems with this, please consult the ITSS Help Desk at (701) 777-2222.
- Lottery times will be available to view in Campus Connection approximately March 7. After the lottery times have been assigned, you will be emailed to check Campus Connection/Self-Service/OnCampus Housing/MYHOUSING.
- Assigned lottery times will occur from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm each day. No student will receive a beginning lottery time before 9:00 am or after 10:00 pm. Room selection will remain open 24/7 for those whose lottery time has arrived, until they select a room. The lottery will be live through March 28, 2013.
- Lottery start times are staggered every 2 minutes. No one else begins at your start time. If you do not select a room during those 2 minutes, you still stay in the lottery. However, one student will be given access to select a room every 2 minutes. So, the longer you wait the fewer rooms you have to choose from.
- You may select your room during Stage 3 – Return to Same Room. If you would like to "pull-in" a different roommate to your same room for next year, please select a new roommate in Campus Connection. For instructions see Stage 2. Roommate matches are never guaranteed, but we will do our best to meet your request. This can only happen if your current roommate does not return to the room. Roommate requests must be mutual and both residents must complete the roommate request form.
- Yes, however, you must tell the roommate that they need to apply for UND residence hall housing by February 13, 2013, and list your name as a requested roommate on the application. Since roommate requests must be mutual, you will also need to request this person as a roommate. To do this, log-on to Campus Connection and select Self-Service/On-Campus Housing/MYHOUSING February 25-26. Under the roommate section, enter the information requested and select the individual with whom you want to live. This will allow us to match you as roommates for Fall 2013. Roommate matches are never guaranteed, but we will do our best to meet your request.
- If you have 30 post-high school credits you are eligible.
- University Place is an apartment-style building with fully furnished 2 and 4 bedroom units, each for 4 people. Each unit has a full kitchen. Students do not have to purchase a meal plan, but are eligible to purchase any plan, including the 3 or 6 meal-per-week plans. The rent includes $200 dining dollars per semester. Students can sign up for an academic year contract or a full term contract (includes the summer). This building does not close over semester and spring break. This contract is different from an apartment because each student leases a bed, rather than the whole unit.
- The recontracting process is for the residence halls and University Place at the same time. So, you will want to sign a University Place contract during Stage 1 (Feb. 15-22 - by 8:00 am on Feb. 22) and pay the $250 first installment. By doing this, you will be placed in the lottery for Stage 6 – new room selection. When your lottery time arrives, you will go into Campus Connection and see if any rooms are still available in University Place. If you see one, take it! You're done. If you have other residence hall friends that you want to live with in University Place, you all need to complete Stage 1 and E-sign a U Place contract and pay the $250 first installment. During Stage 2 you will all need to go into Campus Connection and request each other as roommates. Then, when you receive your lottery time for Stage 6, the person with the best lottery time should go in during their time and select a unit and "bring in" the others as roommates.
- Yes, if you missed Stage 1, you will have a chance to e-sign beginning March 8. Your lottery time will take place after everyone who completed Stage 1 on-time.
- We recommend that you participate in the online room selection process anyway. If you decide not to live on campus, you can receive a full refund of your $250 first installment if you notify us before April 1, 2013. However, if you do not select a room and decide to live on campus, you will find your choices will be greatly reduced.
- If you cancel your contract before April 1, 2013, you can receive a full refund of your $250 first installment. After April 1, there will be a graduated cancellation fee schedule as listed in the Room and Board contract; $25 from April 1-15, $50 from April 16-30, $75 from May 1-31, $100 from June 1-30, $150 from July 1-15, $175 from July 16-31, $200 from August 1-15 and $250 beginning August 16.
- UND apartments are a great option to stay on campus, if you are eligible. The apartment application process is not part of recontracting, see the process here. Hamline Square leaseholders must be age 21 or older by Dec. 31, in the year they take occupancy, or have 90 credits. All other university apartments leaseholders must be 23 years old by Dec. 31, in the year they take occupancy or have 90 credits.
- No, returning students may choose from two Unlimited Access plans or two Block Meal plans also.
