Please fill out a Device Registration form. Once the registration process is complete the device should be able to connect. Due its portable capabilities, the Nintendo Switch may be whitelisted on the wireless, however, please specify on the registration form that the device is a Nintendo Switch.
Wii & Wii U
Wii consoles will not work on the ResHalls wireless. If you would like to use a Wii console in the residence halls, please connect it with an Ethernet cable using a USB to Ethernet Wii adapter.
Wii U consoles will be able to connect to the wireless and should work with no additional actions.
Due to Nintendo's use of outdated wireless technology, the Nintendo DS family of handhelds cannot connect to the ResHalls wireless in most cases. An access points have been set up for such wireless devices in Wilkerson Commons and Walsh Hall; look for the "RH_games" wireless network.
NAT Type Errors
If you receive a message regarding NAT type while playing an online game, please ensure that the device is connected with an Ethernet cable and is not using the wireless. You may need to explicitly configure the device to use the Ethernet in the network settings. If such a message is displayed while connecting with a cable, please contact ResNet.
If your device is not working on the network, please call ResNet at 777-3424 for assistance.
