I just bought a new computer, how do I get it set up?
Refer to our self setup guides.
How much does ResNet services cost?
There is NO additional cost for ResNet. You can pick up an ethernet cable from ResNet to use for the year. (The cable must be returned at the end of the academic year.) There is NO per-minute fee, and you will have Internet connection 24 hours a day.
What software do I need to connect to the residential network?
You don't need any special software. You just need to have an Internet browser installed such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Internet Explorer. You will, however, be required to install the SafeConnect policy key which is used for authentication on the campus network.
How can I connect to the residence halls wireless network?
Please see our page on wireless Internet access.
How can I connect my gaming console to the ResHalls network?
For the best experience it is recommended you connect your gaming console to one of the Ethernet ports in your room via an Ethernet cable. Cables are provided free to all students and can be picked up at the ResNet office. When your console is physically connected, go through your console's network set up system and ensure that DHCP is set to dynamic. Once this is done you will have full access to the Internet over your gaming console.
Please also see our page on setting up gaming consoles.
How can I connect my media device (BluRay Player, Tivo, DVR, etc) to the ResHall Network?
