Wii / Wii U
Wii gaming consoles will not work on the ResHalls wireless. If you would like to use a Wii console in the residence halls, please connect it with an Ethernet cable using a USB to Ethernet Wii adapter.
To access features that require Internet connectivity on the Wii, setup a connection in the system settings and then sign into SafeConnect using the Internet Channel. If the Internet Channel is not installed or SafeConnect does not load, please bring the Wii to the ResNet office in Wilkerson Hall.
Due to Nintendo's use of outdated wireless technology, the Nintendo DS family of handhelds cannot connect to the ResHalls wireless. An access point has been set up for such wireless devices at the Webb Cafe in Wilkerson Hall and the 1st floor lounge in Walsh Hall.
PlayStation 3 / PlayStation 4
After attempting to connect to the network, please open the web browser on the PlayStation and sign into SafeConnect. After doing so, you should be able to connect to the PlayStation network. Please note that the network test will fail until authenticated with SafeConnect.
Xbox 360 / Xbox One
Xbox consoles are automatically authenticated on the network, however, you must sign into Xbox Live before attempting to use any features that require Internet connectivity. If you do not have an Xbox Live account, you may sign up for one at the link below.Live Account Creation
Note: It may take several minutes for the detection of Xbox One consoles.
If you receive a message regarding NAT type while playing an online game, please ensure that the device is connected with an Ethernet cable and is not using the wireless. You may need to explicitly configure the device to use the Ethernet in the network settings. Additionally, if the device is being used in the Wilkerson complex halls, please ensure it is not connected to the Ethernet ports on the access points that are present in some rooms (white box with "H-93" displayed on front). If such a message is displayed while connecting with a cable, please contact ResNet.
If your device is not working on the network, please call ResNet at 777-3424 for assistance.
