UND Faculty/Staff, Students, and Affiliate permit holders are not eligible to park in any designated visitor parking spaces, as they are intended only for non-affiliated guests.
Procedures for New Employees
Effective 1/1/2011
The employing department will complete the New Employee Parking Permit Request form, which is then provided to the new employee on or before their first day of employment. The new employee will submit the completed form, in person with a valid photo ID, to the Parking Office.
If the employee's information is not in the Parking system (T2) or the EMPLID has not yet been assigned:
- UND Parking Services will issue a two-week temporary parking permit for the applicable lot:
- "A" lot permit for benefited employee or Graduate Student employed at least 50% full-time equivalent (FTE).
- "A" lot permit for temporary, non-benefited employee.
- "S" lot for student employee or Graduate Student employed at less than 50% FTE.
- The employee should receive their EMPLID from the employing department once it has been established.
- Approximately one week after EMPLID notice is received, employee can purchase an annual parking permit online at Employee Self-Serve
If the employee's information is already in Parking system (T2) or the EMPLID has been provided to employee:

The employee will be subject to regular parking policies and responsible for all citations for failure to obtain/display a temporary or regular permit. Departments need to ensure that employees are provided the completed form prior to or on their first day of employment.
If new employees do not obtain their temporary permit or a regular permit prior to their first day of employment, they will need to park in the visitor pay lot or the parking ramp (pay as you go parking) at the employee's expense until a temporary or regular permit is obtained.
