Announcements
Parking permits for the 2013-2014 year are currently available to purchase. There are no changes to the permit fees and all permits will be purchased on-line. Please continue to display 2012-2013 parking permits until August 15, 2013.
As noted in an email sent on May 23, the following changes will be made to the configuration in the parking ramp effective Aug. 16, 2013:
- Levels 1, 2, and 3 will be for reserved parking (ramp permit).
- Levels 4 and 5 will have a pool of shared spaces for permit holders and spaces for pay-as-you-go parking.
- S permits will have access to the 230 shared spaces all day.
- H permits will have access to the shared spaces from 3:30 p.m. to midnight.
- A permits will have access to the shared spaces from 3:30 p.m. to midnight.
- The number of reserved spaces in the ramp has been increased to provide faculty and staff the opportunity to purchase a ramp pass.
- Reserved ramp permits will be available on a first come, first serve basis starting June 3, 2013.
A Friendly Reminder: UND parking rules and regulations are enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week and do not differ over holidays or breaks. Please refer to the back of your permit for the zones in which you are eligible to park. If you still have not purchased your new permit, please do so online in Campus Connection under Self-Service.
Please review the UND Parking Zone Map for additional information.
"A", "S", or "H" Permit Holders can park in "A", "S", or "A/S/H" (Brown) zones from 4:30pm-3:00am. After 3:00am, the correct permit type is required for "A" and "S" zones.
- Please note that the parking lot to the west of Wilkerson Hall requires an "A" permit at all times due to the needs of Dining Services staff. The metered spaces may be utilized for free by students with valid permits between 4:30pm-3:00am.
- The "A" permit zone behind Chandler Hall can be used by students with current UND parking permits from 4:30pm-3:00am. Cars parked without an "A" permit after 3:00am will receive valid citations.
Centennial Drive is a "No Parking" zone. This is a safety concern for both pedestrians and emergency vehicles. If you are picking someone up along Centennial, do not stop and park on Centennial. Please pull into the next available parking lot or driveway and stay with your vehicle.
Students parking with resident hall parking permits may refer to the Housing Zone Map . The map will help identify the closest overflow zones (in yellow). These overflow zones are denoted by signs in the lots around campus as "A/S/H" (brown) zones and can be used should your designated zone be full.
There are 203 student shared spaces in the Parking Ramp. Please read the sign located on Columbia Road to see if there are any shared spaces available. If you receive a "Shared Account Full" message when attempting to enter the ramp, the shared student account is full, and you must pull a ticket to enter - do not attempt to back-up as this may cause an accident. Once you pull a ticket, you can exit the ramp within 15 minutes at no charge. If you remain in the ramp, proceed to park on levels 3, 4, and 5 - the cost is $1.50 for the first hour and $1.00 for each additional hour, not to exceed $7.00 for the day.
- Parking Services has received numerous complaints regarding cars stopping on 2nd Avenue North to wait for a ramp space to open. This is not permissible or safe. You may be issued a citation for parking in a no parking zone.
Please read the signs on the meters to determine the maximum amount of time you can park. Some meters allow a maximum of thirty minutes of prepaid parking while others have limits of 1-2 hours. In addition, some meters do not require payment after 4:30pm, but you must display a valid UND parking permit to legally park in these metered spaces. Again, this will be noted on the sign which is posted on the meter.
Timed Zones may only be utilized once in a 4-hour period. Parking more frequently than once every 4 hours may result in a citation that cannot be adjusted.
Please contact Parking Services if you require clarification on any of the parking information listed above. We are located in Twamley Hall. We can be reached by email at UND.parking@UND.edu or at 701.777.3551.

Any appeal for a parking citation can be submitted through the Parking Services website within 14 calendar days of issuance.
For on-campus events, departments should submit the Activity/Event Approval Form. The form should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Once received and reviewed, Parking Services will be in contact with the department to discuss parking arrangements.
