Permit Required Zones
“A” Administrative Faculty/Staff zones (red) are designated for Faculty and Staff with a red “A” permit.
“A/S/H” (brown) zones are designated for anyone with a University of North Dakota parking permit. Specific A/S/H zones allow overnight parking. For A/S/H zones where overnight parking is prohibited, no parking is allowed between the hours of 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM. These zones are clearly marked with signage.
Accessible (Handicap) zones require the appropriate state-issued handicap permit and a valid UND permit.
“P” Park and Ride zones (pink) provide a reduced permit price for students, faculty and staff who are willing to park at the perimeter of the campus and utilize the campus shuttle service to reach their destination. No overnight parking is permitted in the airport and Ralph Engelstad Arena “P” zones. In addition, vehicles parked in the REA “P” zone must be moved by 5:00 PM on event evenings.
“S” Student zones (blue) are designated for students who live off-campus who have a blue “S” permit.
Reserved zones (grey) are appropriately marked by signs and enforced 24/7. You must have a special permit to park in these zones.
Maintenance Vehicle zones (black) are restricted 24/7 to use by University maintenance vehicles.
Service Vehicle zones (black) are designated for departmental service vehicles and require a DSV permit or reserved permit. After 5:00 PM these zones convert to 30-minute parking zones for anyone with a UND permit.
Housing Zones Map
“H” zones (green) are designated for students who live in University residence halls or Greek units who have a green permit beginning with an “H”. HJFS: Johnstone, Fulton, Smith. H18: Selke, Brannon, McVey, Noren, West, UPlace. HMU: Swanson Hall, Conference Center, Greek Housing. HPR: Walsh, Bek, Hancock, Squires, Greek Housing.
HAPT permits are designated for students who live in the on-campus apartments. On-Campus Apartment Residents are responsible to know the apartment parking policies, as well as the apartment maps. Please review the UND On-Campus Apartment Zone Maps for more information.
