The Student Involvement staff is here to assist the students of UND in broadening their educational experience by providing a variety of leadership opportunities. In doing so, we will help students in any way possible. Feel free to help yourself to the various leadership development and inspirational handouts. The Student Involvement Office is located on the first floor of the Memorial Union and assistance is available during Memorial Union hours.
LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AT UND

Student Communications Funding Committee (SCFC) in its role as publisher, is responsible for the maintaining of student publications, clarifying the rules of student publication, and for the protection of the student press from censorship. Seven students, one faculty member, and one VP for Student Affairs Representative compose SCFC. Check out the SCFC website or contact the Student Government Office to find out more about this committee.
Emerging Leaders is a leadership program funded and operated through Student Government. The program accepts 25-35 students for a commitment of one year. Applications are available in the Student Government office during the first two weeks of school. The Emerging Leaders program is dedicated to enhancing the growth of leadership, campus involvement and career development. Students plan events across campus and are networked with mentors on campus and community. To find out more, stop in the Student Government office, located in the main level of the Memorial Union.
Membership in a fraternity or sorority is one of the most outstanding means of discovering and refining your leadership potential. Within each council and chapter, numerous leadership positions exist, all requiring different degrees of skill and investment. Greek organizations provide opportunities for their members to gain leadership skills that will serve them well in college and beyond. The skills students gain through involvement in their Greek chapter and campus community will greatly benefit them in their chosen career field. Greeks are involved across campus including Student Government, Student Ambassadors, and various other organizations, committees and groups.
Students residing in the residence halls have the option of becoming actively involved in numerous leadership positions either in one's hall or through the Association of Residence Halls. ARH is the governing body of students who represent UND's residence hall system locally, regionally, and nationally. Individual halls have their own governments that offer, among others, the following leadership positions: president, vice president, treasurer, and wing representatives.
SOFA is responsible for transportation, programming, and operational funding of student organizations. Visit the SOFA website or contact the Student Government Office for information about this committee.
UND utilizes a number of students each year to help orient the newest students to the university and its surroundings. As a student ambassador, you are an official representative of UND and can gain valuable leadership training experience. UND supports over 275 student organizations that allow additional interaction with fellow students, faculty, and staff providing an educational, engaging, and entertaining element to the college experience. Students have opportunities to become involved in organizations from Academic, Cultural, Honorary, Military, Arts, Religious, Special Interest, and Sports and Recreation categories.
Student Government is the representative body for all students at the University of North Dakota. Comprising the leadership of the UND student body are the Executive Officers, Student Senate, Special Committees, and the Standing Committees (SCFC, SOFA, and UPC).
The University Program Council is responsible for programming for the student body. They achieve this through programming concerts, movies, comedians, lectures, coffeehouses, and other special events. Visit the UPC website or contact the Student Government Office to get more information about UPC.
Volunteer Bridge serves as a resource for students providing information about volunteer opportunities in the Greater Grand Forks community. Volunteers may commit for a single event, a semester, or for an entire year.
