Organization Template Guide
Organization templates can be used by special units on campus such as officially recognized student organizations, research groups, or faculty. Academic and administrative units should not use organization templates.
Organization templates provide various navigation layouts, text styles and color schemes to choose from. All websites created using the organization template have the same small black header and standard footer. This gives all sites the same global navigation our users expect from site-to-site.
Start Your Own Site
Submit a request for Web space to start your own website in an organization template.
The first file you'll want to edit is template-style.pcf. This is where you can choose how your whole site will look. You can choose the layout, colors, fonts, and more. If you make a change to this file you'll have to republish all pages to apply the new style.
Preview the styles using the Template Style Guide. Click the buttons to preview the settings.
Create your pages. Pages have optional sidebars and widgets.
Populate the footer and navigation files and publish them. Both of these files are required.
Banners and Logos
Every site using an organization template should have a unique banner or logo at the top of the site. Banner size is dependent on the layout you choose. To request a professional banner design, submit a project request form through the Office of Marketing & Creative Services.
