Image Requirements
A web optimized image is any image smaller than:
- 72ppi (pixels per inch) in resolution
- 1034px wide and 500px tall in dimension
- 30kb in file size
And is in one of the standard image formats:
PNG (recommended), JPG, GIF

Image Compression Tools
The following tools compress images for the Web without affecting their quality. Please optimize all images before uploading them to OU.

Windows (JPEG): The JPEG Reducer
Windows (PNG): PNGGuantlet

In Content Images
500px by 350px (Max.). See example
Main Images
You can place a main image on any page in OU. Main Images are placed under the global UND banner and above any content of a page.
You can upload these images to your _files/images/main-images/ folder or if the image is general enough to be used across the entire UND site you can request a web admin to upload it to _files-global/images/main-images/.
These images should be named in this format: [prefix]-[title]-[height].jpg.
ex: med-stethoscope-335.jpg or gen-flowers-300.jpg ("gen" is for general).
