UND Presidential Search
The North Dakota University System (NDUS) has launched a search for the next president of the University of North Dakota (UND).
The new UND president will succeed Mark R. Kennedy, who departed in June 2019 to assume the presidency of the University of Colorado System.
Dr. Joshua Wynne, UND vice president for health affairs and dean of the School of Medicine & Health Sciences, has been serving as interim president since June 16, 2019, by appointment of the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education (SBHE).
Co-chairing the UND Presidential Search Committee are Dr. Dennis Elbert, UND alumnus and former dean of the UND College of Business & Public Administration; and Dr. Casey Ryan, vice chair of the SBHE, former president of Altru Health System and current practicing physician at Altru in Grand Forks.
The next president is anticipated to begin on or before July 1, 2020.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend listening sessions to share views with members of the UND Presidential Search Committee, which is interested in the insights of North Dakota citizens and other friends of the University.
The University Senate will hold a presidential search listening session for faculty senators on Thursday, Sept. 19, 3:30 p.m. in Education 113.
