Most Certified Dietary Managers are employed as Directors of Food & Nutrition Services in:
- long-term care or assisted-living facilities
- hospitals
- foodservice management contract companies
- correctional facilities
- schools
- military bases
- other institutions that serve food
As a Certified Dietary Manager, you will have specialized knowledge and experience in human resource management, nutrition therapy, food production, and sanitation management as it relates to food service.
According to the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP), salaries vary by region, but the national average is more than $53,000 as of November, 2018. Additionally, certified dietary managers with the CDM, CFPP credential earn more than those without the credential.
