Academic Accreditation and Assessment
We engage in regular assessment and review processes to uphold quality academics.
Institutional quality assurance provides ongoing projects that monitor, evaluate, and report on university performance and institutional effectiveness. These include policies and procedures, processes, and outcomes related to advancing the University’s mission in education, scholarship, and service.
Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Reaccreditation
UND is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). HLC maintains processes for determining eligibility for accreditation, for achieving candidacy status, for achieving initial accreditation, and for maintaining accreditation.
Comprehensive Evaluation for Reaffirmation
UND is part of the Open Pathway 10-year Cycle. We are currently preparing for a Comprehensive Evaluation for Reaffirmation, which will occur during the 2023-24 academic year. This process covers all HLC criteria and Federal Compliance, and includes an on-site visit by HLC reviewers.
Student Learning Outcomes Assessment
UND documents assessment activities with clarity and in a way that demonstrates continuity and consistency, and using the results of assessment to improve student learning.
The goal of accreditation is to assure students, as well as parents and employers, that a college or university provides a quality educational experience.HLC
