Courtesy Appointments

Courtesy appointment requests should be submitted to the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Please be mindful of appointment dates when submitting. Applicable policies, appointment and renewal forms are available below.

Courtesy Appointment Guidelines

As stated in the Faculty Handbook, “A courtesy appointment is an academic appointment granted to a person who has been requested by the faculty to participate in the academic or research program of the college or University because of his unique qualifications and capabilities. A courtesy appointment is a non-tenure appointment and involves no remuneration.”

Please be aware, it is the responsibility of the appointee and the department to ensure that Academic Affairs is aware of any change in the information asserted in this form. This includes, but is not limited to, changes in employment or immigration status and changes in physical location. If the department intends to engage the appointee in work on any restricted projects, it is the responsibility of the department to contact Export Control, for additional review.
