Biography

Dr. Robert (Bo) Wood holds the rank of Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of North Dakota.  He is the Director of the Master of Public Administration program and serves as the Policy Lead for UND’s Research Institute for Autonomous Systems (RIAS).  He was also the Director of the Bureau of Governmental Affairs at UND from 2006 to 2016. He received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Washington in 2003.  His most recent publications focus on policymaking processes at the local level, how public services are best delivered in rural communities, bureaucratic behavior and regulatory policy.  Dr. Wood has presented his work at such conferences as the annual meetings of the American Political Science Association, Midwest Political Science Association, and the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management.  His research has been published in the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, thePolicy Studies Journal, Urban Affairs Review, Review of Policy Research, Environmental Communication, The Journal of Environmental Policy and Planning, andState and Local Government Review.
