Biography
Caitlin M. Olsen is a Senior Policy and Regulatory Specialist at the EERC, where she works with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and business professionals to integrate permitting, regulatory, legal, policy, economics, and tax perspectives with technical information and applied research related to incremental oil recovery; unconventional oil recovery; geologic CO2 capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS); power generation; emissions reduction; and renewable energy systems. Ms. Olsen holds a B.S. degree in Geology from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Prior to her position at the EERC, she served as an Assistant Compliance Manager at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, and before that, a Production and Measurement Supervisor and Petroleum Engineer–Field Inspector with the North Dakota Industrial Commission Oil and Gas Division, Bismarck, North Dakota.
Ms. Olsen’s principal areas of interest and expertise include regulatory compliance, geologic CCUS, power generation, emissions reduction, and renewable energy systems. In addition, Ms. Olsen has experience in the areas of project management, data analysis, staff supervision and development, and safety audits.
