Biography
Dr. Sayani Maity is an Assistant Professor and Director of Systems Engineering at the University of North Dakota. Prior to joining the faculty at UND, she completed her Ph.D. in 2020 from Iowa State University in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Controls Systems and Robotics. She completed her Bachelor's in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2011 from Jalpaiguri Goverment Engineering College, India. She received her Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Jadavpur University, India in 2014. In her current role, Dr. Maity teaches various courses in Systems Engineering department as well as in other departments under College of Engineering and Mines, UND. Dr. Maity's research interests lies in the field of Robotics, Modeling and Controls. In her free time she enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
