Tara Kopplin is a Licensing Associate responsible for the commercialization of engineering and physical science-related technologies. She meets with inventors to discuss and review intellectual property disclosures, manages prosecution of patent applications, and works to license existing technologies. She also reviews and drafts legal agreements, including material transfer agreements and licensing agreements.
An active member of the Association of University Technology Managers and the Licensing Executive Society, Kopplin frequently attends meetings and educational courses to sharpen her skills in technology management and licensing technology.
Prior to working at UND, Kopplin received her BS in Chemical Engineering and her MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of North Dakota. She interned at Cargill Corn Milling as a process engineer.
