Biography
Wanda Lauer is an assistant professor in the University of North Dakota Occupational Therapy program. Prior to joining the faculty in 2019, she worked as an occupational therapy assistant (1998-2010) and occupational therapist (2010-current) in a variety of locations and settings. She has worked in long-term care, acute care, swing bed, home health, group homes, and adult and pediatric outpatient settings. She currently teaches courses related to professional development, occupational therapy evaluation, management, advocacy, program development, and fieldwork and integration. She also teaches an elective course on mindfulness practices. Wanda is a certified lymphedema therapist, 200-hour certified yoga teacher, and Certified Healing Touch Practitioner. She serves on the North Dakota Board of Occupational Therapy Practice and the Advisory Board for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and Northland Community and Technical College. Her areas of interest include integrative therapies, mindfulness practices, productive aging, rural health, supporting student success, and building a collaborative learning environment.
