Apply to Accelerated Dietetics Program

Apply to the accelerated  dietetics and nutrition program.

Pay less and graduate sooner with UND’s combined or accelerated degree programs. Because these degrees are combined into one program, you’ll take fewer total credit hours than you would if you were to pursue your degrees separately.

How to apply to the accelerated nutrition and dietetics program?

Step 1 - Apply to UND

If you are an incoming freshman or transfer student, apply to UND as an undergraduate student. Declare your program of study and you’ll follow a straightforward plan from the very beginning of your enrollment all the way through to graduating with a master’s degree.

Step 2 - Apply to Accelerated Dietetics and Nutrition Program

The accelerated program is accredited to accept up to 18 students each year. Students apply to the program at the beginning of spring semester of the sophomore sequence of the program for admission the following fall.

Requirements

  1. A demonstrated interest in the field of dietetics.
  2. A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale.
  3. A minimum grade of "C" in all science, food and nutrition courses.
  4. All courses in the pre-professional phase of the major must be completed prior to entrance into the program.
  5. Documentation of at least 50 hours of service learning prior to entering the program.

Deadline

Applications are due on February 1 every year. An application, application fee, three recommendations, and submission of statement of goals, program of study, resume, and service learning hours form are required along with a professional interview.

Students receive written verification of their acceptance status into the professional phase of the accelerated program before the end of spring semester.
