Why Study Educational Leadership at UND?
UND's Ed.D. in Educational Leadership is designed primarily for students preparing for hands-on leadership roles in school administration, such as superintendent or principal positions. In contrast, the Ph.D. is a good choice for students with a particular interest in research or creative experience.
Combining theory and practice, the Ed.D. program prepares you to be an innovative scholar-practitioner. The program helps you develop:
- Leadership knowledge and skills for K-12 school administration
- The ability to apply research and research methods to improving K-12 education
- Knowledge and application of educational practices related to the foundations of learning and teaching
This program most often will fulfill state requirements for an administrative credential, including the School Superintendent credential for North Dakota.
The Ed.D in Educational Leadership program is approved by the North Dakota Educational Standards and Practices Board. All educator preparation programs at the University of North Dakota are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
