In the Teaching and Learning doctoral program, you'll focus on the practice and scholarship of education as you prepare to be a professor, teacher educator, school district resource administrator or educational specialist. You will develop a deep understanding of student learning and gain expertise in effective teaching practices as you apply the knowledge to your own teaching, research and scholarship.

The Doctor of Education in Teaching and Learning prepares you for leadership and teaching positions in schools, colleges and universities, and public or private agencies. The program emphasizes professional practice and the research and theory that inform practice.
Our doctoral program offers two specializations—both culminate with a dissertation.
- Higher Education — Preparation to be a college or university professor of an academic discipline.
- Teacher Education — Preparation to be a professor of education at a college or university and/or as an educational specialist to teachers in pre-K-12 schools.
