Canada is seeking skilled immigrants to contribute to our economy and uses a human capital model to select candidates. Canadian work experience or a job offer are not required and there are no country caps.

DEPARTMENT OF STATE – DIPLOMAT IN RESIDENCE
Want to make a difference in the world while representing your country overseas? Learn about opportunities in diplomacy for students and professionals, including in STEM fields like computer science and engineering. Ron Packowitz, the U.S. Department of State's Diplomat in Residence for the Midwest, will share highlights of his 21-year career in the Foreign Service and describe how you, too, could play a role in American diplomacy. Among other things, you'll learn about fellowship programs that cover two years of educational expenses and lead to an exciting career in the State Department.
