The committee's objective is to conduct a thorough national search for the next vice president for student affairs and assist with the successful hiring of a top candidate.
The search committee is charged with conducting the search, evaluating candidates, conducting initial interviews, hosting finalists, and submitting an unranked list of acceptable candidates to the president. The committee, with assistance from an executive search firm, will ensure that all stakeholder groups have the opportunity to participate in the process and/or provide feedback on the finalists and will be used by the committee in its deliberations.
The search committee is assisted by Spelman Johnson in this process. The search is chaired by Vice President for Marketing & Communications Meloney Linder.
- Observe strict confidentiality in the conduct of the search. Any member of the search committee who breaches confidentiality may be removed from the committee.
- Promote a diverse candidate pool while abiding by UND and NDUS equal opportunity and non-discrimination guidelines.
- Serve without predetermined bias for or against any prospective candidates nominated, referred, or discovered in the search process.
- Understand that the Committee will meet frequently over a period of months and that attendance at scheduled meetings is a top priority.
