Other Parking Permits
All visitors must obtain a parking pass to park on campus. Passes are needed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and regulations do not differ over holidays or semester breaks.
Single-day and multi-day visitor passes are available for purchase online or in the office. Passes are $5/day or $20/week.
- Purchase Online: Online passes can be purchased with credit/debit card or E-check.
- Purchase In-Person: Stop by Parking Services, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with cash or check. These permits must be displayed on your vehicle's dash or rearview mirror.
Temporary Special Parking Requests
If you require short term special parking needs, please complete the online form. You'll need to log in using your NDUS username and password (used for CampusConnection, Blackboard, HRMS).
Temporary special parking requests are available for permit holders only.
Apartment Permit (APT)
The “HAPT” or “A” permit will allow an on-campus resident to purchase one additional “APT” parking permit for $5. Any person who is listed on the lease may be eligible for one additional “APT” permit if the leaseholder has purchased the appropriate “HAPT” or “A” permit.
Step 1. Purchase a "HAPT" or "A" Permit
- Current students living in a UND on-campus apartment will purchase an “HAPT” parking permit in Campus Connection for $155 once they are enrolled.
- Faculty/Staff living in a UND on-campus apartment will purchase an “A” parking permit in Employee Self-Service for $225.
Step 2. Complete the "APT" Permit Authorization Form

Parking Services will set up your “APT” permits within 5 business days of receiving payment and the required verification form.
Where to Park
- Designated housing parking lot 24 hours a day
- “A/S/H” (brown) zones
- Parking ramp levels 4 and 5 between 3:30 p.m. and midnight
The leaseholder (“HAPT” or “A” permit holder) who purchases the “APT” permit is responsible for any citations issued to either permit and/or vehicle.
Citations may be issued if the “HAPT” and “APT” permits are found to be in violation of UND parking regulations (i.e. parked outside of designated apartment zone as posted on the Housing website, permit given to an ineligible individual or shared/swapped) and the “HAPT” or “A”, as well as the “APT” permit, may be revoked and deemed ineligible for a refund. Parking Services will notify Housing of any such violations. Housing will consider this type of action under the lease and policy violations.
A motorcycle is defined as any scooter, moped, motorcycle, or motorized bike that requires a license plate. Any motorcycle parked on campus must be registered with the UND Parking Services and display a valid motorcycle permit.
Motorcycle permits must be affixed to the front windshield or on one of the front forks. After August 16, 2016 no display of permits will be required, your license plate will be associated with your permit.

Where to Park
- Hash marks of assigned lot, providing the motorcycle does not create a safety hazard or block any roadway/walkway
- Memorial Union loop designated 30-minute motorcycle spaces
- Parking Ramp - Level 1 southeast corner (Motorcycles are only allowed on Level 1. If the designated motorcycle area on Level 1 is full, exit the ramp and find another appropriate site to park.)
Do NOT park in metered or timed spaces, or "No Parking" zones.
Motorcycles cannot be stored on campus during winter months.
Handicap Accessible Permits
UND honors state-issued accessible permits for visitors, however, you must also have a UND permit to park in designated handicap spots on campus. Please contact Parking Services to discuss parking options if you are a visitor who wants to park in an accessible space (while displaying a state-issued accessible permit).
Contractors, delivery persons and vendors will need to obtain and display a UND "K" parking permit. The "K" permit, is valid in Service Vehicle Zones, "A", "S", "H", and "A/S/H" (brown). After August 16, 2016 all permits are valid utilizing the license plate as a method for tracking.
Business permits can be purchased on a temporary or annual basis.
Bring the completed and signed applications to Parking Services located at the Transportation building.
Chester Fritz Auditorium Priority Permit
Priority parking is given to Chester Fritz Auditorium season ticket holders and qualified Auditorium donors. The Auditorium reserves parking spaces near the entrance to the auditorium for vehicles displaying the priority parking permit. Permits are issued by the Chester Fritz Auditorium and are valid during ticketed shows only.
Retired UND faculty and staff are eligible for a yearly UND parking permit at a reduced fee of $12 payment (cash or check).
