Fargo senior at UND named North Dakota Student Employee of the Year
Eric Flacksbarth, a University of North Dakota senior from Fargo, has been named State Student Employee of the Year and UND Student Employee of the Year. Flacksbarth, who has worked two years for the Office of the Associate Vice President of Finance and Operations, is pursuing a Bachelor of Accountancy degree.
Patty Sigurdson, Flacksbarth's supervisor, nominated him for his outstanding professionalism and quality of work.
"He will tackle any problem given to him, and will work tirelessly to reach a logical and correct conclusion," Sigurdson said. "Eric's patience and teaching abilities will serve him well in his future endeavors."
Sharon Loiland, UND Controller, said she relies on Flacksbarth's thoroughness and excellent accounting and technical skills to assist with the Annual Financial Statement.
The program is sponsored by the National Student Employment Association. The UND Student Employee of the Year receives a $500 award and his/her name on a plaque. After receiving the UND award, Flacksbarth's nomination was submitted to the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators Regional Student Employee of the Year Committee, which named him North Dakota State Student Employee of the Year.
Eric will be recognized on Thursday, April 26, 2012 during the Memorial Union Leadership Awards at UND.
