Adult Re-Entry
(Nontraditional Students)

The area of Adult Re-Entry was formed to make the transition into college life a little easier for the nontraditional student, or adult learner. The purpose of the  Adult Re-Entry Coordinator is to provide guidance and support as the nontraditional student navigates the many challenges of college life. The Adult Re-Entry Coordinator serves as a resource while providing students with opportunities to connect with campus and community resources. We also bring students together to provide peer support for a positive academic experience.

Statistics from the Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Education show that nontraditional students are the fastest growing educational demographic. Although there is not a precise definition, the nontraditional student or adult learner is commonly considered a student who may have one or more of the following characteristics: 25 years of age or older, financially independent, delayed or interrupted college enrollment, has dependents, family and work obligations, including transfer, veteran, and international students.
