The Student Organization Funding Agency (SOFA) is a standing committee of Student Government composed of nine students members, a staff representative, and a faculty representative that meet weekly to provide assistance to student organizations for various projects. Members of SOFA are given the task of allocating over $150,000 in funds to student organizations throughout the year. Student members review and assess funding requests to determine appropriate funding allocations in accordance with all governing documents and UND policies.
The SOFA assists student organizations financially in efforts of providing educational and cultural opportunities that align with the purpose and goals of each organization. The SOFA also provides support, guidance, and oversight for how student organizations may use any allocations that they receive from the Agency. A student organization may come to SOFA with funding requests for travel, programming, equipment, operations, or publications.
