Beginning February 5, 2018 the North Dakota University System is discontinuing the current 90 day password expiration. Users will be required to change their current password one more time after February 5 for this change to take effect.
All passwords must comply with the following rules:
Password is case sensitive.
Must be between 12 and 16 characters long.
Must not include any of the following values: password test * , < >
Must not include part of user's name or NDUS.identifier.
Must not include a common word or commonly used sequence of characters.
Must contain at least 3 types of the following characters:
Symbol (! # $ etc.)
Other language characters not listed above
Characters that are not allowed will be displayed during password creation
The previous 10 passwords cannot be used.
The North Dakota University System will no longer authenticate using security questions. Instead, users will be prompted to authenticate with:
An alternate email address
Users that have entered the incorrect login information or had failed logins ten (10) times within a ten (10) minute period will be locked out of the system for ten (10) minutes.
Passwords changed by the UND Help Desk or NDUS Help Desk will expire in three (3) days and should be reset by the user within that time. Users can change their NDUS.identifier password at any time through the North Dakota University System portal found below, but are limited to once a day.
