Claim your student account
One of your student's first steps as a newly admitted freshman preparing to attend UND is to activate his/her student account within the ND University System (NDUS). It is imperative that this is done prior to attending UND Student Orientation.
By claiming an NDUS Account, your student will gain access to many of the systems he/she will need as a UND student such as registering for classes, activating UND email, accepting financial aid, etc.
To claim an NDUS Account, your student should:
- Go to UND.edu/claim.
- Find his/her student ID number (also known as EMPLID) by clicking on the "What is your EMPLID?" link. You'll also receive a letter from Admissions in early March with your student ID number.
- Once your student has his/her student ID number, click on the "Claim Your Account" link.
- Follow the steps as indicated.
The process will take about 10 minutes because your student will be asked a series of security questions that will help protect his/her information. Once your student has claimed an NDUS Account, he/she doesn't have to go through the process again.
If your student is unsure whether he/she already claimed an NDUS Account, go to UND.edu/claim, click on the "Have you claimed your account?" button, and enter the student's date of birth and student ID number.
Any questions or issues can be answered by contacting the NDUS Help Desk at 1.866.457.6387 or go to helpdesk.ndus.edu.
