Make the Grade - New Scholarship Opportunity!
UND awards nearly $7.7 million dollars in academic scholarships each year, and we're excited to announce a new $6,000 scholarship ($1,500/year) for freshmen entering Fall 2014. By making the grade, part of that money could go to your son or daughter to help with college expenses!
To be eligible for the new $6,000 scholarship, students must:
- earn an unweighted high school GPA of 3.5+
- have an ACT score of 25+ or SAT score of 1130+
- enroll as a full-time student at UND (15+ credits per semester)
- be admitted by March 1 for Fall 2014
If students have higher GPAs and test scores, they may qualify for other academic scholarships at the following levels:
ACT / SAT Scores
|NEW! 25+ / 1130+||3.50+ (unweighted)||$6,000 ($1,500/year)|
|29-31 / 1290-1390||3.65+ (unweighted)||$10,000 ($2,500/year)|
|32-36 / 1400-1600||3.65+ (unweighted)||$12,000 ($3,000/year)|
|National Merit Finalist||$20,000 ($5,000/year)
plus $1,000 annually if "sponsored" by UND
Students are automatically eligible to receive one of the above scholarship awards based on their cumulative GPA and official test scores at the time of application.
However, after students are admitted to UND, they have the opportunity to resubmit higher GPAs and/or test scores to qualify for one of these academic scholarships. If your student has academic test scores or GPAs that didn't quite meet UND's scholarship criteria, encourage him/her to retake the ACT/SAT or work to raise his/her GPA to be eligible for scholarship dollars.
Resubmit Test Scores or Grades
Admitted freshmen have until February 25, 2014, to raise their GPAs and/or test scores in order to qualify for one of UND's academic scholarships.
If students wish to resubmit their test scores or transcripts, they must notify the UND Office of Admissions by calling 1.800.CALL.UND prior to February 25. Updated test scores and transcripts must be received by the Office of Admissions no later than Monday, February 25 to allow for proper processing of their admission files by the March 1 scholarship deadline.
Additional Scholarships Available
Your student may be eligible for additional UND scholarships or tuition waivers. Encourage them to apply early, as funding for these awards is limited and is not guaranteed through the March 1 deadline date.
