Resume Critiques
Do you have a rough draft of your resume already pulled together? If not, you should – and you should keep it updated throughout your college career. When you are ready to use your resume for an open position or the Career Fair, it would be beneficial to review the Resume Checklist below:
Resume Checklist:
- Is the most important/relevant information first and presented effectively?
- Did I tailor my resume to the job posting?
- Is it easy to find all my qualifications?
- Is my resume pleasing to the eye? Did I bold, italicize, underline too much?
- Is my formatting consistent throughout the resume (dates aligned, format repeated consistently)?
- Are abbreviations noted properly?
- Does my objective give my resume an accurate “voice”? Is it reflective of me and what I bring?
- Did I emphasize my work-related skills?
- Have I incorporated measurable results where I can?
- Is my phone number and email address correct?
- Are my present positions in present tense and past in past tense?
- Have I made an appointment with Career Services for a resume critique
If you would like to have a career coordinator look over your resume, please call 701-777-3904 to make an appointment. They will be able to assist with your draft and you'll be set for a better future!?
