Biography
Jay became a full-time faculty member in July 2013 and serves as the didactic coordinator, course director for pharmacology, and teaches multiple aspects of clinical medicine within the program.
Jay started his medical career as a volunteer EMT in Hope, ND. He enlisted in the US Army and served from 1991-1994 as a combat medic for the 24th Infantry Division in Ft. Stewart, GA, and as a part of Joint Task Force Bravo, Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras. After his enlistment, Jay worked as a nurse assistant in the ER while training to be a paramedic. He was a paramedic for FM Ambulance in Fargo, ND, for 6 years prior to becoming a PA.
Jay has been practicing as a PA since 2003 and brings to the Program clinical expertise in the areas of family practice, general surgery, and emergency medicine. In his spare time, Jay enjoys fishing, hunting, croquet, and spending time with his family.
