Biography
After a number of years in the US Air Force, I discovered a love of geology while I was in graduate school while studying asteroids. I had always wanted to be a professor and paid close attention in my classes, not only to what I was learning, but also to how it was being taught, especially the online courses I took while in the military. By the time I was a PhD student I was already developing full courses and as such, UND was the first university in North America to offer Structural Geology as an online course. I have continued to pursue not only learning and research in geology, but also in the best practices for classroom and for online teaching, helping UND to become the first university in North America to offer a completely online, fully accredited B.S. in Geology.
I try to combine all of my diverse background and love of teaching and with my love of geology so I can provide the best learning experience for my students. It is a constant work in progress and I always value feedback.
