Curriculum Vitae
Biography
I teach art history courses to undergraduate and graduate students as a Teaching Associate Professor in the Department of Art and Design. I have taught art history at UND since 2003. From 2003 to 2016, I taught part-time and worked full-time as Director of Grand Forks' arts council and Public Arts Commission. I became a full-time faculty member in 2016. I teach introductory visual and fine arts courses, art history survey courses, and courses on advanced art history topics. I specialize in feminist, modern, and non-Western art history and have been a faculty mentor for undergraduate research projects. I have taught courses in synchronous in-person, synchronous online, blended, hybrid, and online asynchronous modalities. Many of my courses incorporate information, digital, and AI literacy competencies.
I received a Doctor of Education in Educational Practice and Leadership, specializing in Higher Education, from the University of North Dakota in May 2025. I received a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Dakota and a Master of Arts in Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Alverno College. In addition to my teaching, I serve on several University Senate committees, College of Arts and Sciences committees, and Departmental committees. I also served as a faculty mentor through the Alice T. Clark faculty development program.
Outside UND, I serve as Commissioner on the Grand Forks Historical Preservation Commission, as President of the Grand Forks Public Library Foundation Board, and as a member of the ArtWise Board.
