Biography
Dr. Rana Shaaban is a lecturer at the College of Engineering and Mines at the University of North Dakota, with expertise in wireless communication, particularly Optical communication, and cybersecurity. She earned her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UND in 2021, focusing on "Visible Light Communication Cyber Security Vulnerabilities for Indoor and Outdoor Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication." In 2017, she completed her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Optical Communications, also at UND. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport in Egypt, in 2013. With over eight years of teaching experience, Dr. Shaaban is dedicated to creating an engaging academic environment that aligns with UND's mission and values, while continuing to develop her expertise in higher education.
