Biography
Dr. Sreejith Vidhyadharan Nair holds a Ph.D. in Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science , Pilani, India. He has over 19 years of extensive research and academic experience, collaborating with government agencies and industries on various funded projects. His research expertise is in cyber-physical systems, computer networks, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), and Internet of Things (IoT). Currently, Dr. Nair works as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Aviation at the University of North Dakota, where he began his position as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Research Institute for Autonomous Systems (RIAS). His work encompasses the development of communication protocols, enhancement of air and ground-based sensor capabilities, autonomous navigation, UAS-assisted target detection and tracking using machine learning, and the design and development of intelligent systems with edge analytics. Dr. Nair's research also focuses on advanced flight data analytics, including risk assessment for UAVs and crewed flights while operating in the National Airspace System. This involves analyzing flight patterns, risk identification, and the implementation of mitigation strategies for safer flight operations.
